Havana,
November 5 (RHC)--The Hero of the Republic of
Cuba, Gerardo Hernandez, sent a message of
gratitude for the condolences received from many
countries, for the death of his mother, Carmen
Nordelo Tejeda, last Monday in Havana.
"The
best tribute to my mother is to stand firm in
this struggle," stated Gerardo in the note,
published today in the Cubadebate website and
emitted from the Federal Prison Victorville,
United States, where he is serving two life
sentences plus 15 years, for protecting Cuba
from terrorist acts.
In
his message, Gerardo stated: "(...) on behalf of
our family, I thank all friends who have
expressed their support at this difficult time."
The
best tribute to my mother will be to stand firm
in the fight for justice so one day, as she
wished, the Five could be back to the motherland
said in relation to his friends (Fernando
Gonzalez, Ramon Labañino, Antonio Guerrero and
Rene Gonzalez), also imprisoned in the U.S. to
prevent terrorism on the Island.
Alicia
Jrapko, from the International Committee for the
Freedom the Five, was in charge of sending the
note to Cubadebate website.
