“Year 52 of the Revolution”
Dear friends:
I address to you with the final aim of
drawing your attention and summoning your
support at the current condition of one of
the Cuban Five Patriots, unfairly held in US
jails for 12 years for fighting against
terrorism.
We have just approved in the Cuba’s National
Assembly of People’s Power a Statement of
protest, that may be found in every web site
of the Cuban press, and in our
blog “Siempre con Cuba”,
in which there is a thorough explanation on
the case of Gerardo Hernández Nordelo.
It is of the utmost importance that all of
us increase our efforts in order to let the
US people, his president, the Congress, the
Federal Bureau of Prisons, and all those
people with some sway in the caucus, know
thoroughly of the case of the Five,
particularly about Gerardo’s situation. The
commander in Chief has condemned in several
occasions the situation of the Cuban Five,
included that of Gerardo’s; and has
explained that we are witness of an act of
torture and we should make people aware of
it; acts are bound to be increased in order
to have Obama release them.
I call upon you to endeavour to achieve
Gerardo to be taken back to the inmate
population; so that he also receives medical
attention with urgency, and continue to get
prepared for the appealing process, and that
he is also allowed to receive visits from
his wife Adriana Pérez O’Connor.
We really appreciate your immediate reaction
ever since comrade Alarcón condemned this
situation and asked you to register in open
spaces within the social networks,
especially
Facebook
and
Twitter,
in order to spread the stark truth on this
act of injustice worldwide. There is no
respite for us in this battle until the Five
are released, each one of them, just at
once.
