Havana, Jan 1 (RHC), - On the occasion of New Year 2012,
the five Cuban anti-terrorist fighters unfairly
held in US prisons appreciated world solidarity
with their cause and wished a Happy New Year to
the international community.
In a message published by the Juventud Rebelde newspaper,
Rene Gonzalez, Gerardo Hernandez, Ramon Labanino,
Antonio Guerrero and Fernando Gonzalez, known as
The Cuban Five, known internationally as the
Cuban Five praised the efforts made for their
release during the past year.
"You are our greatest virtue, our strength and the main
reason for our optimism that one day the great
miracle of liberty will be made and we will be
able to celebrate together the happiness of
victory," said Labanino.
Guerrero highlighted the risks taken by his comrade Rene
while remaining in U.S. territory, where he was
forced to stay under probation until the
fulfillment of his sentence.
Gerardo drew a caricature marking the 53th anniversary of
the triumph of the Cuban Revolution and the
resistance of the Cuban people against 50 years
of US aggressions.
For its part the International Free The Five Committee
issues a statement stressing their decision to
continue the struggle for the release of the
Cuban patriots. |
